Re: Fashion?
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 8:23 AMThe colourful shoes with the thin 4 inch stiletto heels are by Comme il faut. Very expensive, very high heeled, but people say, they are well made and comfortable. On the other hand, a friend of mind had her foot punctured when someone stepped on her with one of those metal filled stilettos and suffered for months. -

Re: Fashion?
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 7:55 AMThat happened to me at my first milonga. Simultaneously someone in the balcony at the club opened a botttle of champagne and it spilled all over me.And all the women at the milonga lined up in front of me so no leaders could even see me to ask me to dance. It was not a fun evening.
Haven't been to a milonga for years but i'm betting that people are still mostly wearing black.

Re: Fashion?
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 10:43 AMOh, and is there a general fashion code in your town or does it change according to location?
We have a Tuesday milonga that is very laid back, on the other hand there's one on Thursday where everybody puts on their best dresses and you see the best shoes.
(I admit, shoe-watching is one of my delights at milongas...)
But wherever you go, people wear all kind of colors. I think we've had a Tango scene her for long enough so that people got over the cliché of "black".

Re: Fashion?
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 12:11 PMlast night in Sausalito there were lots of light-colored floaty dresses; browns and tans; and the shoes are never less than fabulous. clothing rather traditional overall however.
I have seen way more interesting colors lately, and less red and black. I like seeing women dress with some originality! but how do those men dance in three-piece suits? very impressive.
